Kimura Cup 2011

Members from Fortknocks Kimura Shukokai Karate club recently came back from the Kimura Cup 2011 with a host of medals.

In only her first ever tournament Emma Louise-Bradley struck Gold in the Cadet Junior Kata event, she also took Bronze in the Girls 10-12yrs Kumite event.  A fantastic achievement for her first tournament.

Lucy Sheldon again in her first tournament, surprised many showing true spirit and determination, to take the bronze in the Boys & Girls 6-7yrs Kumite.  In the semi finals she was just pipped by 1 point to the eventual winner of the category.  She made no mistake though in the fight off for bronze.

Michael Baker now on the SKF National team again showed his progress and up and coming talent by again reaching the final of the Adult Senior (3rd-1st Kyu) Kata event, however by one flag he was pipped to take the Silver medal this time, beaten by a fellow England Squad member from Kent.

Club Instructor Sensei Audun Daniels struck Gold in the Mens Senior Open Kumite event.

Sensei Daniels said that he was absolutely delighted with the result and said that this was the start of many to come for his new up and coming stars.
